No Word Yet On Parents' Appeal

No word yet on a group of parents’ appeal of the Allegany County Board of Education’s action to phase out the Washington County option- however a decision should be made in short order given that the new school year begins next month.                                                                     
A group of Little Orleans parents have appealed to the State Board of Education- claiming that the local board not allowing their middle school children to attend school in Hancock is a violation of the federal No Child Left Behind act. It’s an issue that began with the local school board, and then saw both the County Commissioners and Delegate Leroy Myers intervene. Myers tells WCBC News that its clear there could have been better communication between all parties in handling this issue...
